Biography

Cinnamon, Editor, is the Chief Clinical Officer for NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals (NPH) systemwide and serves as NPH’s Infection Preventionist. Cinnamon was previously a Social Services Director prior to becoming a RN. Cinnamon previously has held leadership roles in Behavioral Health, Nursing Education, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Rehabilitation Nursing, and Geriatric Nursing. She
ensures ethical practices in all she does in contributing to the betterment of all populations served.

Cinnamon has a BA in Human Services (Psychology & Sociology), a BSN (Nursing), and an MSN (Nurse Education), all of which she received from Millikin University in Decatur, IL. She is currently a doctoral candidate working on her dissertation EdD, Educational Leadership with a focus in Social Justice at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL, which will be completed in the spring semester of 2021. Cinnamon has a Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certification and is also a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). Cinnamon is currently working towards her Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology.

Area of Interests

Cinnamon’s interest outside her family is being the voice for those who go unheard. She strives always for the betterment of others especially those within marginalized groups and communities as humanism is her driving force. Her predominant research interests lie within Clinical Best Practices in the areas of Nurse Education, NeuroPsychiatric Disorders, Mental Health Disorders,
Community Health, and Infection Control.
