Lisa Richards Homa
Founding Nursing Program Director
Lisa Homa earned her ADN from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing, a BSN from Pennsylvania State University, and MSN-Ed from Western Governors University and a Ph.D. from Walden University. As a surgical trauma nurse, she won a prestigious Excellence in Caring Practice Award through AACN for providing ethically challenging care to a complex surgical patient. For the past twelve years, she has maintained her bedside skills in Neuroscience Integrated Critical Care and worked with patients and families impacted by primary brain tumors.
Lisa’s research interests have shifted towards improving the delivery of nursing education in a virtual platform. In her post-doctoral fellowship, Lisa’s goals include developing a best practice online nursing program and strategies to engage and motivate diverse learners. At the completion of her fellowship, she intends to build best practice online nursing programs, conduct research, and maintain a faculty position. As a Founding Nursing Program Director at Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, PA, she strives to cultivate a dynamic, enthusiastic, blended learning environment.
